It all started back in October 2020, when I was watching Wild Romania (on Netflix) with my best friend Teo. In that documentary, I heard the narrator say “Lumini\u0219” and I fell in love with that word.<\/p>\n

At that moment in my life, the dream of buying land and building a retreat center was a little seed. So the seed got a name: “Lumini\u0219”.<\/p>\n

A few months passed by, and at a party, I met somewhere who asked me if I’m going to Lumini\u0219. My eyes sparkled with curiosity. “Lumini\u0219 already exists?”<\/p>\n

It was a small gathering in the mountains, and it seemed like an amazing event, but I had other plans that weekend. So when I met again with my friend, she told me some stories from the event and I was hooked. I had to get in touch with the organizing team.<\/p>\n

I called Bogdan, the founder of Lumira, the organization that is the Mother of Lumini\u0219. After a phone call, he added me to a group to chat with the other volunteers. And in a few weeks, it was him, Alina (another volunteer), and I creating content for his amazing Playfight events.<\/p>\n

For the next 8 months, we got super close. They became some of my closest friends. We would meet and hang out and have really deep and therapeutical conversations. Any time I was with Bogdan or Alina I felt like I was seen, understood as if I belonged.<\/p>\n

When April 2022 rolled around, we recruited new volunteers. A team of 15 beautiful people was created to help organize Lumini\u0219 2022. For the next 4 months, we were split into 2 teams, online and offline.<\/p>\n

Alina and I coordinated the online team, and together we created a beautiful and soulful marketing campaign for the event. We put aaa looot of hours into the creation of the posts, calls to action, videos, messaging, talking to the facilitators, sending emails, and everything else that was required. We got soo much help from the volunteers, and I don’t think that this could have been possible without them. We learned so much on the way too, but I knew, the real deal is almost starting!<\/p>\n

In July we met for the teambuilding at the location of the event \u0218inca Nou\u0103. Those 3 days were filled with joy, hugs, and tears, with sitting by the fire super tired after long days of working. We built a lot, we cooked, we moved stuff around, and we finally got a glimpse of our dynamic as a team. It was challenging for all of us, but we got closer to each other and to WHY we chose to be there.<\/p>\n

To give you a bit of a perspective: when we got there, it was just LAND. No houses, no structures, no kitchen – nothing. We had to build everything. The toilets, showers, kitchen, dining area, 3 tents for the activities, and a space for taking a rest between the workshops. So as you can imagine, there was A LOT to do!<\/p>\n

I feel like now would be a good time to also explain a bit what Lumini\u0219 is all about. It is a 5 days event – Wednesday to Sunday, where people get together to focus on their personal and spiritual growth. Mornings start with yoga, and then the participants can choose one out of three workshops they’d like to attend. Lunch, and then another workshop they get to choose from. After dinner, there was a community gathering such as singing by the fire or ecstatic dance. The workshops were focused on mindfulness, healing, awareness, movement, reconnecting with your needs and emotions, releasing what isn’t serving you and of course, having fun and making new friends. If you know me you’d say “Wow, Andreea, that seems like your dream event!” WELL!!!! IT WAS! And I was part of bringing it to life. WOWZERS!!!<\/p>\n

Now you get my excitement. And on top of the event being so awesome, the team was incredible. These people became my family, they all impressed me in ways I didn’t even think were possible. Each of them was so extraordinary, dedicated, caring, honest, and loving. I got to be myself with them, fully – laughing like I’m crazy, ugly crying, and everything in between.<\/p>\n

Now after the teambuilding we returned home and we continued the marketing campaign. We got more sign-ups and we were very much excited for the actual event! Yuhuhuuu<\/p>\n

Then, it was time to go to \u0218inca Nou\u0103 for LUMINI\u0218! Bogdan got there a few days before, and he build so much of the structures with the help of 2 workers in the village. The kitchen, toilets, and showers were almost ready. For the next 3 days, everyone on the team focused on building, preparing food, bringing water, decorating the space, and on the last day welcoming the participants at the check-in point. We were all quite exhausted from all that work, and lots of stuff were coming to the surface, but as Alexandra said, “If not here in a safe and loving space should they come out, then where, at work, or at home with your kids or family?” So true. I’m grateful for the struggles that the exhaustion brought. They taught us tremendously.<\/p>\n

Here we were Wednesday evening at the opening circle. I couldn’t believe that we made it this far. The first event I was part of organizing, and finally all the names I saw written on a Google Form, were now the beautiful people smiling back at us. Goosebumps!<\/p>\n

The next day I facilitated an Access Bars workshop where 14 people joined, and they got to run someone else’s bars, and get theirs ran too. They liked to feel the energy and said it was a restful time. I was grateful for it all and that I danced through my fear of showing up and talking in big groups.<\/p>\n

After that most of the team joined a Breathwork workshop where Roxana took us on a Journey!!! It was intense and beautiful. The music carried me away to other realms and I got to hold the hand of an Angel. It was such a pure moment I’ll hold in my heart forever.<\/p>\n

In the evening we gathered around the fire where Cristi and Flaviu sang with us, and gave us musical instruments like drums to play with. We all created music together, and we sang and danced around the fire. It was magical.<\/p>\n

The next day was a bit rough for the team. We all got together in a circle and talked about our frustrations brought up by exhaustion. It was so lovely to see everyone being so caring and patient to listen to others, and also each of us opening up and being so honest. Now we knew what everyone was thinking and we didn’t feel the tension in the air, brought by unspoken and accumulated frustration. At the end of that discussion, we did a short meditation and a group hug and I felt like we reconnected as a team. So grateful for each and every one of them!<\/p>\n

After that, I went on an intuitive painting workshop, where we connected with an emotion and then drew it on paper. And after that, all women attended the women’s circle, where we received ancient wisdom about our feminity, we created an altar, and we danced and sang with our intentions. It’s impossible to put into words what I felt during those moments, so I won’t even try.<\/p>\n

The next day I went to a workshop of dancing, and it was so much fun! It reminded me that dancing is truly one of the most fun activities I can invite more in my life. Especially done with a certain intention and funny people. After that, I joined a shamanic journey with Stefan – and the meditation took me in a deep and restful sleep. That evening we had an ecstatic dance ritual, in which we danced through each chakra – with the music perfectly curated by Sumeia and Catalin. In the end, we all hugged each other and felt so connected like we were one.<\/p>\n

On the last day, we said goodbye to everyone, we made plans of how we will meet again, and told each other how much we will miss being together. But we were all very hopeful and full of ideas for the next events. That evening and next morning we took down everything we built before, we filled them up in a van, and Bogdan drove them to Bucharest.<\/p>\n

Crazy to see the process of building almost an entire little village for 60 people that took a week, and then how easily it comes down in a day. WOW!<\/p>\n

The things I learned and lived through were soul-fulfilling. This is honestly how I’d like to spend the rest of my life. With my soul family, in nature, healing, dancing, growing, and bringing this to more and more people so we can return to the awareness that we are all one. And through community, we can grow and evolve. Going back to our roots. But upgraded by our modern mentality and technology. That is my vision! I think that returning to community a few times a year and then going back to our modern lives is the secret to long, happy, and prosperous lives in which we follow fulfillment, health, and joy.<\/p>\n

So infinitely grateful for this experience and I already can’t wait for next year, and the many years to come!<\/p>\n
